Four Northridge Gymnasts Compete Today at U.S. Junior Olympics Championships
Four boys from California Sun Gymnastics, a private gymnastics training center in Northridge, begin competition today at the U.S. Gymnastics Federation’s Junior Olympic Championships in Atlanta, Ga.
Jay DiMenno of Northridge, Eric Johnston of Van Nuys, Gary Vanetsky of Simi Valley and Steve Diem of Agoura qualified for the Atlanta competition by placing in the Regional Championship in May at the University of Arizona.
The boys, aged 14-16, are coached by Dan Connely, formerly the coach of Olympic gymnastics champion Mitch Gaylord.
The competition concludes Saturday.
