Firefighters Make Gains Against Utah Forest Fire

ST. GEORGE, Utah — Firefighters said Tuesday they hoped to head off a 5,600-acre forest fire after diminishing winds and cooler air allowed them to stop flames threatening the only access road into the rugged area of Pine Valley Mountain in southern Utah.
