Local News in Brief : Victims Identified in Motorcycle-Car Crash
Ateen-age motorcyclist and a motorist, killed in a collision late Sunday in Encino, were identified Monday as Daryl Cobin, 18, of Encino, and Raudel Diaz, 23, of Northridge, Los Angeles police said.
Investigators said Diaz was turning his car onto Balboa Boulevard near Burbank Boulevard about 8 p.m. Sunday when the auto was struck broadside by a motorcycle ridden by Cobin.
Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
One of three passengers in Diaz’ car, Eva Miranda, 25, of Northridge, was in critical condition Monday at Northridge Hospital Medical Center. Her 2-year-old daughter, Daisey Miranda, was in stable condition at Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles.
The third passenger, Maria Sandoval, 19, of Northridge, was treated at the Northridge hospital and released.
Investigators said it appeared Diaz failed to see the motorcycle as he pulled onto the street.
