Local News in Brief : Crash Kills Teen-Ager on Eve of Graduation
A teen-ager who was to graduate Friday night from Thousand Oaks High School was killed Thursday evening when the motorcycle he was riding crashed into a tree at high speed, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department reported.
Kevin Heisley, 17, of Thousand Oaks was riding north on Lynn Road just north of Wildwood Avenue about 8 p.m. when his motorcycle hit a tree on the center divider, Lt. Guy Inglis said.
Heisley, who had borrowed the motorcycle from a friend earlier in the evening, was traveling about 90 m.p.h. at the time of the crash, Inglis said. Heisley was pronounced dead at Los Robles Regional Medical Center.
