Excedrin Tests Show No Cyanide

AUBURN, Wash. — No cyanide was found in tests of more than 73,000 Extra-Strength Excedrin capsules, the government said today, and investigators pressed attempts to trace the origin of the poisoned bottle that killed a bank manager.
Police and FDA agents swept through more than 50 stores in Auburn and pulled Extra-Strength Excedrin from the shelves after the death last week of Sue Snow, 40, at her home. The state Board of Pharmacy banned sales of the medicine in all outlets in the state and warned consumers to avoid taking any Excedrin capsules.
