Defeated Premier to Aid Barbados Opposition

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados — Opposition leader Henry Forde said that defeated Prime Minister Bernard St. John will help him reorganize the Barbados Labor Party, which lost general elections last month after 10 years in power.
St. John relinquished control of his party early this month after the new prime minister, Errol Barrow, who led Barbados into independence a decade ago, defeated him in elections held May 28.
Forde, who assumed the party’s leadership, said St. John will be part of a committee set up to review reasons for the Barbados Labor Party’s crushing defeat.
