Buena Park : Ill Comes From Well During Visit to Knott’s
Financial wishes failed to come true for two teen-agers who police said were arrested after taking rather than tossing coins in a wishing well at Knott’s Berry Farm.
Buena Park Police spokesman Terry Branum said the pair, dripping wet and carrying a box of change, had $85.26 in coins and $125 worth of stuffed animals when arrested after being seen near the well by a security guard about 12:30 a.m.
Nicholas Vestal, 19, was released after being cited for petty theft, Branum said, and a 17-year-old, whose name was withheld, was released to his parents. Both suspects live in Grand Terrace in San Bernardino County.
Branum said the teen-agers entered the closed park through a gate left open for maintenance crews.
