Eddie Lawson, riding a Yamaha, won the fifth event of the World 500cc Motorcycling Championship at Rijeka, Yugoslavia, for his fourth consecutive victory.
Second was fellow American Randy Mamola, on a Honda, 10.47 seconds behind. Lawson averaged 99 m.p.h.
