Gang violence was suspected in the shooting death of a young man in front of a Florence district home, sheriff’s investigators said. Miquel Covarribias, 18, died about an hour after he was shot in front of 8809 Fir Ave., Deputy Rick Adams said. Detectives were unsure if the fatal shots were fired from a car or by passers-by, but blamed the shooting on gang rivalry, Adams said. No suspects were in custody.
