Beautification
The Times printed a picture (June 1) of a beautification program taking place on Fairfax Avenue between Clinton Street and Beverly Boulevard.
It showed a palm tree being planted as part of a $1-million renovating project.
Instead, how about repaving the neglected streets that are full of potholes, thus endangering pedestrians’ lives and damaging cars?
How about building affordable housing, and I do mean affordable?
How about feeding the homeless?
Shouldn’t the accent be placed on humanitarian efforts instead of a million dollars being spent on trees?
I love trees as much as the next person, but first things first. Yes?
