LaForce, Los Gatos Distance Runner, Will Attend UC Irvine

Scott LaForce, a distance specialist from Los Gatos High School, has signed a letter of intent to attend UC Irvine next fall.

LaForce is expected to compete in cross-country and track and field for the Anteaters. He finished seventh in the 3,200-meter run in last week’s high school State meet at Cerritos College with a time of 9 minutes 3.88 seconds, and has personal bests of 3:54.22 in the 1,500-meter run and 4:17.89 in the mile. LaForce also was the Central Coast Section cross-country champion last fall with a time of 14:51.
