Senate Urged to Confirm Head of Social Security

WASHINGTON — The Senate Finance Committee recommended Wednesday that the Senate confirm President Reagan’s nomination of Dorcas Hardy as commissioner of the Social Security Administration. The committee sent the nomination to the Senate floor on a unanimous voice vote.
Hardy, 39, now is an assistant secretary in the Health and Human Services Department.
