Services Set for Shooting Victim
A prayer service for Suzanne Mohr Coleman, 16, the Fountain Valley High School junior shot to death last weekend near the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, will take place at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Peek Family Colonial Funeral Home in Westminster. The service is open to the public.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Spirit Church in Fountain Valley, with burial following at Pacific View Memorial Park in Newport Beach.
Miss Coleman was shot early Sunday morning in an alley near the Coliseum. She and her boyfriend, Christopher Barth, 18, of Fountain Valley, had been robbed moments earlier. They went into the alley with a parking lot attendant who said he would help them get the girl’s purse back, Barth said.
Police have arrested three teen-agers in the killing: Carlos Chavez, 18, who police say they believe fired the fatal shot from a rooftop, and two juveniles, a boy, 14, and a girl, 16.
