French Port Blockaded

PARIS — The French government announced Tuesday that it has dispatched navy units to Hendaye, a port on the Spanish border that is under blockade by 270 Spanish fishing boats. The Spaniards set up the blockade Monday to protest a ban on their vessels’ fishing in the area. The ban was imposed after Spain joined the European Communities on Jan. 1.
