West Germany announced the arrest of a former American serviceman on charges that he spied for a Soviet Bloc nation. Interior Minister Friedrich Zimmermann made the announcement during a press conference on terrorism but refused to identify the suspect or provide further details. Bonn security sources said the suspect had a long career in both the U.S. Army and Navy and was arrested before he could provide the information to the Soviet Bloc nation.
