The Death of Bruce Wayne
It tells you what moving lives we live that the death that stunned and saddened so many was of a man few knew at sight, far fewer had met, but whom everyone had heard--an airborne traffic reporter.
Strange, Los Angeles, a city whose definition is like that of infinity, a circle whose circumference is nowhere and center everywhere, had as its emotional matrix a man who flew above the fast lanes of our lives, telling us when to avoid a wreck, when to go around a jam and when the way ahead was clear. He led us to our days.
Bruce Wayne will be missed. We all need someone above us.
