A Wayward Bus

Thank you for your important and insightful article, “If Orwell Were Editing Commentary” (Book Review, May 25).

Until I read your conclusions, I felt that I had gotten on the wrong bus--Orwell and Camus championing neo-conservatism?

As an Orwell buff, I think he would have dismissed the comments as “Doublespeak” while attending the reception in an old tweed coat. Camus would have stayed in Algeria and snubbed the entire event.
