American Air Sues S.D. Travel Agency
SAN DIEGO — A San Diego travel agency Friday was accused by American Airlines of improperly selling discount travel coupons under the carrier’s AAdvantage Program.
Named in the $5-million suit in San Diego Superior Court were Premier Travel; its two principals, Eric Fuller and Jeff Rooney, and several related firms.
The suit says that the program--under which passengers are awarded free airline tickets for accumulating a certain number of paid miles--can be used only by the passenger named on the discount certificate. The certificates are void if sold for cash, the suit says. However, it says that Premier bought coupons from passengers and sold them.
Late last month, Trans World Airlines filed a similar suit against the agency.
