The purchase price, which will be paid largely in cash, will not be disclosed until the deal is completed June 30, according to Ronald W. Cameron, Ropak’s vice president for finance.

The purchase of D&D;, subject to approval by Ropak’s board, is the second acquisition this year for Ropak and gives it eight plants in the United States and Canada. On April 1, it completed its acquisition of Can-Am Containers Ltd., a Nova Scotia producer of plastic packaging and handling products, for $4.2 million, or about $3 million in U.S. dollars.

The privately held D&D; had revenues of $3.5 million in its latest fiscal year. Ropak’s revenues last year hit $32.2 million.
