Newhall Land & Farming Co., a Valencia-based real estate partnership, has agreed to build a 207,000-square-foot building with offices and distribution facilities in Valencia for the Bergen Brunswig Drug Co.
Construction is scheduled to begin this fall. Bergen Brunswig Drug, a pharmaceutical distribution unit of Los Angeles-based Bergen Brunswig Corp., will rent the structure and its 9 1/2-acre site on a long-term lease. Under the agreement, it is to hold options to renew the lease or buy the property.
Bergen Brunswig will hire more than 100 people to work at the building when it opens in the summer of 1987, said Richard R. Liebermann, director of corporate real estate for Bergen Brunswig Drug.
The cost of the building was not disclosed. It will be at the intersection of Avenue Kearny and Avenue Scott in the Valencia Industrial Center, a Newhall development now occupied by 200 companies with about 6,000 employees.
