Stefka Kostadinova of Bulgaria cleared 6 feet 10 inches to set a world record in the women’s high jump during a meet at Vienna.
Kostadinova, 21, broke the record of 6-9 1/2 which she shared with Ludmila Andonova, also of Bulgaria.
Andonova, who set the mark in 1984, last year was barred for life by the International Amateur Athletic Federation for using drugs.
