Katherine Lorenz of El Camino Real High has signed a national letter of intent to play golf at Pepperdine.

Ray Young, formerly of Moorpark College, has rejoined the Bakersfield Dodgers of the California League.

Young, a right-handed pitcher whose fastball has been clocked at 94 m.p.h., had been recovering from chest surgery. Young struck out 81 batters in 83 innings for Bakersfield last season.
