Providence Wins Small Schools Title, 13-2
Providence High School of Burbank routed Riverside Linfield Christian, 13-2, to win the Southern Section Small Schools baseball championship Friday at College of the Canyons.
Providence pitcher Jeff Cirillo (12-2) pitched a two-hitter, striking out 11, and also stole three bases. Providence shortstop Adam Grant drove in four runs with a single, a sacrifice fly and a two-run home run.
Top-seeded Providence finished the season 24-2, while Linfield Christian wound up 21-4-1.
