Francie Larrieu-Smith, the defending champion, was forced to withdraw from today’s L’eggs Mini-Marathon in New York because of a foot problem that requires surgery. Top runners in the six-mile race through Central Park include Joan Benoit Samuelson, Ingrid Kristiansen of Norway, Aurora Cunha of Portugal and Allison Roe of New Zealand.
