A rooming-house fight resulted in the fatal stabbing Thursday morning of a 23-year-old man, police said.
William Earl Giddings died shortly after arriving at Mercy Hospital from the rooming house in the 4500 block of Park Boulevard.
Thomas Wayne Goggins, 25, was later arrested on suspicion of murder. Police said Giddings broke down the door to Googgins’ room and they began fighting, with Giddings hitting Goggins with a beer bottle. The fight moved to a back porch, where Giddings was stabbed, said homicide Lt. Phil Jarvis. Goggins was being held without bail in County Jail.
