National Steel Corp., Pittsburgh, said Robert D. McBride, president and chief executive, will retire to pursue personal interests.
McBride, 58, joined National Steel as an industrial engineer at the Granite City division in Illinois in 1956. He served as president of each of National’s three steelmaking divisions and was named president in May, 1983.
Howard M. Love, chairman of the Pittsburgh-based steelmaker, will serve as both chairman and president until a new president is named.
