A former Los Angeles International Airport cafeteria cashier was sentenced to death in the brutal slaying of his supervisor in November, 1984. Henry Earl Duncan, 21, of Compton, was called by Torrance Superior Court Judge Hiroshi Fujisaki a person of “vicious manner, cruelty, callousness and brazenness†because he continued to work at the cafeteria in the Pan American Airlines terminal after murdering Eileen DeBaun and taking $2,500 from petty cash. Duncan’s attorney, John Cheroske, said his client was driven by a “monster†cocaine habit to act without reason.
