Shooting by Victim’s Father
While none of us condone what our friend and colleague, Jack Spiegelman did, in the San Fernando courtroom, we can certainly understand his frustration with the criminal justice system, which consistently ignores the victims of crime.
The government made a promise to victims of crime in exchange for giving up their right to seek justice themselves. The government promised to protect them and represent them in the prosecution of their attacker, should they become victimized. The government has breached this contract with the victims of crime.
