2 PIANISTS TO PERFORM
Russian pianist Bella Davidovich, who immigrated to the United States in 1977, and Cuban-born Jorge Bolet will visit Orange County this weekend for concerts at Santa Ana High School Auditorium.
Davidovich will appear at 8 p.m. Friday with Conductor Gerard Schwarz and the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra in a performance of Mozart’s Concerto No. 20 in D Minor. Sponsored by the Orange County Philharmonic Society, the concert also will include Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 1 in C Minor. Bolet, 72, will commemorate the centennial year of Franz Liszt’s death by performing both of the composer’s piano concertos with the Pacific Symphony on Saturday night at 8. Conductor Keith Clark also will lead the orchestra in the Sinfonia and Ballet Suite from Haydn’s opera “Il Mondo Della Luna†and the Suite from Bartok’s ballet, “The Miraculous Mandarin.â€
