Originally a Hallmark-produced TV special a couple of years ago, this ambitious, sugar-coated morality play peopled by stiff actors and cuddly animated dolls takes a firm stand in favor of hugging. It also serves as a ploy to unload a bunch of huggable Hallmark-produced dolls. Inquisitive children and their parents might enjoy the encore: a behind-the-scenes peak at the making of this epic. As for the show itself, grown-ups may be unable to stomach the cutesiness and maudlin sentiments. The little ones, though, will eat it up.
