A Tarzana woman was killed late Thursday when she drove her car through a red light and was struck broadside by another auto, Los Angeles police said.
The woman, Dawn G. Rosso, 58, was driving west on Ventura Boulevard in Woodland Hills at 10:45 p.m. when, according to witnesses, she drove through the traffic signal at Fallbrook Avenue and was struck by a northbound auto, Officer Robert Crane said.
Rosso’s car veered over the curb and crashed into the side of a building, Crane said.
Police stopped traffic on the boulevard to allow an ambulance helicopter to take Rosso to Northridge Hospital Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead on arrival, Crane said.
The driver of the other car was treated by paramedics at the scene for cuts, Crane said.
