Vatcher’s Leadoff Homer in Ninth Inning Completes Northridge Rally at Biola, 7-6
Jim Vatcher homered on the first pitch of the ninth inning to lead Cal State Northridge to a 7-6 nonconference win Thursday at Biola.
The solo shot was Vatcher’s third of the season, and comes after a 3 for 5 performance Wednesday against Chapman.
Cheeky Palomarez (2-2) was the winning pitcher in relief of Robert Wheatcroft.
The Matadors trailed, 5-4, entering the eighth inning, but Scott McIntyre hit a two-run homer to give CSUN its first lead of the game.

BIOLA--Starr, Nelson (5), Briley (6), Mancini (8), Hahs (9) and Suttle.
