All-America shot putter John Frazier was cleared...
All-America shot putter John Frazier was cleared by the NCAA to compete for the UCLA track and field team for the remainder of the season, including the Mt. San Antonio Relays this weekend.
The question of Frazier’s eligibility had been under investigation by the NCAA. The investigation stemmed from Frazier’s redshirt season of 1984 in which he competed in some meets unattached.
Frazier was held out of UCLA’s meets for three weeks pending the investigation’s outcome, although he did complete unattached against Houston and TCU.
