Mack Trucks Inc. reported a loss of $14 million for the first quarter, compared to net income of $4.15 million posted for the like 1985 quarter. Revenue fell 28%. Mack attributed the loss primarily to the reduced level of truck deliveries and service parts sales, coupled with the adverse impact on costs of the lower capacity utilization of manufacturing and assembly facilities.
