New business incorporations rose 9.4% in January.

There were 60,497 new business incorporation in January, up from 55,301 a year earlier, according to figures released by Dun & Bradstreet. New York reported the largest number of new incorporations with 6,585, followed by Florida with 6,041, California with 5,202 and Texas with 3,352. On the basis of percentage changes, new incorporations in New York, Florida and California increased by 8.7%, 15.5% and 23.1%, respectively, while new incorporations fell 2% in Texas.
