Micro D Inc. Reports $402,000 1st Quarter Net
Micro D Inc. said Wednesday that it had net earnings of $402,000 during the first quarter, compared with a net loss of $77,000 during the like period of 1985. Officials of the Santa Ana-based computer-equipment distributor attributed the improvement to increased sales, improved profit margins and lower expenses.
Revenues for the three months ended March 31 totaled $42 million, an increase of 75% from $24 million during the first quarter of 1985.
Also on Wednesday, Micro D said that it had formed a new marketing division to expand its sales of software and other computer products to original equipment manufacturers. Dan DePasquale, formerly a Micro D regional vice president, will head the new division, the company said.
