A federal judge in Cleveland struck down an Ohio law requiring that physicians notify the parents or guardians of unmarried girls seeking abortions. U.S. District Judge Ann Aldrich ruled that the law violates the due-process clause of the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. She ordered prosecutors in Akron and Summit County not to take action against one of the plaintiffs, an unnamed pregnant teen-ager. The American Civil Liberties Union had called the law vague and unenforceable.
