More Rain Drenches East Coast

From United Press International

Heavy rain drenched the East Coast for the third straight day today, flooding thousands of uninhabited acres in New Jersey, while light snow in the Appalachians iced roads, making driving hazardous.

Rain fell in Tennessee, Kentucky, the Virginias, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey and southern New York, while snow was scattered over the mountains of West Virginia, the National Weather Service said.
