Maritz Leads by 2 Strokes

Laurette Maritz of United States International University shot a two-under-par 70 Monday to take a two-stroke lead in the first round of the Lady Sun Devil Invitational college women’s golf tournament in Phoenix.

USIU is eighth in a field of 16 teams, six strokes behind USC, which leads by one stroke over Oklahoma State. San Diego State University is in 14th place, 17 strokes behind USC. SDSU’s Patti Liscio shot a 74 to tie for fifth place with 14 other golfers.
