Manchester United Falls Farther Behind

MANCHESTER, England — Manchester United, once 10 points ahead in the English League soccer standings, slipped farther behind in the title race Sunday after losing at home to Sheffield Wednesday, 2-0. Carl Shutt and Mel Sterland scored second-half goals for Sheffield Wednesday.
United remained five points behind First Division leaders Liverpool and Everton, which both won on Saturday and have games in hand.
