A six-week boycott of the Disneyland Hotel, called for by unions representing 1,200 hotel workers, has caused the hotel “no economic hardship at all,” a hotel spokesman said.
But the unions announced that they are turning up the heat. David L. Shultz, president of the local Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees union, said the union will contact travel agents and their customers and urge them to join the boycott.
The union also will stage more demonstrations, among them a rally featuring Cesar Chavez, longtime United Farm Workers president and one of the nation’s foremost Mexican-American leaders.
