VIDEORGY: We reported recently that Barry Manilow’s new video was world premiering on “Entertainment Tonight.” That apparently was an overenthusiastic prediction by the always-overenthusiastic Michael Ameen, Manilow’s press agent. Ameen claims that “E.T.” music-segment producer Clay Smith told him that the program was using it, but the airing was delayed by scheduling shifts caused by the death of actor James Cagney. But Smith insists the show never actually promised a full premiere. “I told Michael that we’d be interested in world-premiering the video if it was as great as Michael said it was. However, when I saw it, I didn’t really flip over it, at least not enough to give it a major premiere. It’s still in consideration as a possible show-closer, but we don’t know when it’s going to run. It might be tomorrow or it may never run.”
