Murphy Takes Scholarship to Arizona
Simi Valley High’s Shaun Murphy has made a verbal commitment to Arizona and will attend the university on a full baseball scholarship next fall.
Murphy is a senior center fielder for the Simi Valley team who doubles as a pitcher. He leads the team with five saves and is the team leader in hits with 25.
Murphy had a record-setting year as a junior last season, setting school marks in hits (46), runs batted in (47), triples (6) and runs scored (41). He batted .455 and hit five home runs.
Simi Valley is ranked No. 1 in the nation by Collegiate Baseball magazine and is 14-3 this season.
