ARTS CENTER RECEIVES $1 MILLION
A $1-million donation has been made by Mary Elizabeth Moore-Young of Fullerton to the Orange County Performing Arts Center in memory of William Ray Moore.
The Moore-Young donation brings the amount raised for the Center’s construction to $61 million, aides at the Costa Mesa complex said. The target is $70.7 million, the cost of the main theater phase that opens Sept. 29.
Moore-Young is also a supporter of the Rehabilitation Institute of Southern California, as well as the City of Hope Medical Center. Her first husband, the late William Ray Moore, founded the Golden State Foods Corp.
Center aides also said that $64 million has been raised in “deferred pledges” and gifts for an endowment fund to help underwrite annual operating and programming costs.
