Fullerton : Man Dies in Fall From Bike Into Truck’s Path

A Garden Grove man was killed Monday when he fell from his bicycle into the path of a passing garbage truck and was crushed beneath the wheels, police said.

The county coroner’s office identified the man as Andrew Yoon, 28. Yoon was riding his bicycle west on Orangethorpe Avenue near State College Boulevard when he sideswiped a parked car just as the garbage truck was overtaking him. Yoon fell to the street and was crushed by the rear wheels of the truck, accident investigator Don Pearce said.

Yoon was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said. The driver of the truck, owned by MG Disposal Systems Inc. in Fullerton, was not cited, Pearce said.
