24 Candidates Vying for 8 Seats in City Council Elections Today

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. in four Orange County cities today where voters will decide the fate of 24 candidates running for eight) city council seats.
In La Habra, Douglas Bystry and Steven Wilder are running for at-large seats held by Mayor Pro Tem Kent A. Roberts and Mayor William D. Mahoney.
Meanwhile, Tustin voters will have at least one new council member because Mayor Frank H. Greinke decided not to seek reelection. The candidates include incumbent Ursula E. Kennedy and non-incumbents Stephen Johnson, Jim Scott, Ronald H. White, John Kelly, John Norman Butler, Eileen M. Dow, James A. Niemiec and Clyde Tracy.
In San Juan Capistrano, Anthony Bland, Gary L. Hausdorfer and Mayor Phillip R. Schwartze are seeking reelection against two challengers, Jean LaBurn and Russ Neal.
Los Alamitos voters can pick among six candidates for three seats. They include Mayor Anthony R. Selvaggi, Thomas J. Taufer, Robert P. Wahlstrom, Marianne G. Stiles, Alice B. Jempsa and Robert Y. Geraghty.
