SDSU’s 400-Meter Relay Team Close to NCAA Qualifying Mark
San Diego State’s track relay teams could manage no better than fourth at Saturday’s Sun Angel Classic in Tempe, Ariz., but its men’s 400-meter relay squad did close in on an NCAA qualifying mark.
Aaron Thigpen, Daryl Hudson, Rex Brown and Andre Freemen combined to run the 400 meters in 39.97, finishing fifth, narrowly missing the NCAA qualifying time of 39.85. The Aztecs placed fourth in the distance relay, with team members Anthony Burns, Mark Lambie, Kyle Morton and Paul Greer finishing in 10:04.3. SDSU also finished fourth in the men’s 800-meter relay with a time of 1:23.74.
