13 Postal Workers Indicted

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A federal grand jury indicted 13 post office workers today on charges of possessing and distributing illegal drugs, mostly marijuana and cocaine.
Alfred Howe, a postal inspector, said the indictments stem from an investigation started several months ago into drug activities at the main post office in Kansas City. Howe said that most of the U.S. Postal Service employees indicted were distribution clerks and mail handlers, but that there was nothing to indicate the workers used the mails to distribute the drugs.
