April 15 has been set as the deadline for nominations for the $70,000 Humanitas Prize, an annual competition that seeks to encourage TV writers to stress enriching human values on television. Entries must have been aired between May 1, 1985, and April 15, 1986.
The categories include a $25,000 award for a 90-minute or longer script; $15,000 for a one-hour script; $10,000 for a half-hour; $10,000 for children’s live action, and $10,000 for children’s animated. A non-monetary Humanitas Prize also goes to a news-documentary program.
The Humanitas Prize is funded by an endowment created by various non-network broadcast groups.
