In a three-minute Municipal Court hearing in San Francisco, Federal Express agreed to pay $46,414 in parking fines accumulated by its delivery trucks over the past year. The 1,400 citations mostly involved parking in tow-away zones, according to Traffic Court clerk Robert Curl, but also included failure to curb wheels on hills and stopping in various illegal areas, including spaces for handicapped drivers. “No one in our office has ever heard of a company with $46,000 in parking fines,” Curl said.
